He is looking for the serial number of his old military rifle so he can engrave both it and the Colt logo onto the AR-15 he plans to give years from now to his son, now 11 months old. The Bushmaster XM-15 series (or XM15) is a line of AR-15 style semi-automatic rifles, and carbines, manufactured by Bushmaster Firearms International. I didn't pay any attention when I bought it but when I went to record it for my records I noticed my other two Bushmaster Lowers have a serial number starting with BFSxxxxxxx (7 numbered serial number.
